Man Ferreira is a painter from Cannes, born in 1964. Since his childhood, he showed interests in PopArt. His fascination for the United States reflects on most of his artwork. In 1995, after he worked as interior decorator and graphic designer, he has decided to devote himself to his passion for painting and enrolled to the Maison des Artistes. (An association constituted in accordance with the French law of 1901, concerning non-profit organizations)
Man Ferreira became known in the contemporary art world after realisation of paintings dedicated to cosmopolitan cities as New York, Paris or Tokyo. He uses mixed media on wood or on canvas, mixing collage, photos, inks, charcoal drawings and drippings… He exhibits his artwork s throughout France and overseas, although his artworks are very popular on the French Riviera. For his last series of artworks, Man Ferreira delivered us a series of a very popular icon. Mario Bros, every person recognize its shape, even though it seems to be pixellized in sculpture. There’s a tension between the material of the artwork that is made of resin and the digital world of its origin. The artist materialized an imaginary persona that exists in our collective imaginative landscape and brought it into our physical world. You can find his latest works in Marciano Contemporary galleries.
