The coldness of the blues blends harmoniously with the immaculate whiteness of the pearly tones of his flowers. Suddenly, without warning, the fuchsia and the orange heckle this original serenity. Sometimes abstract, sometimes figurative, Charly Bounan declines the water lilies in various and varied forms. For certain paintings it happens to him to crystallize in the acrylic and the plaster of the paper flowers… As if a winter frost had frozen them on a freshly snow-covered ground.  For others, the fluidity of the pictorial touch seems to give the spectator the sensation of immersing himself in the lakes on which the water lilies rest.
